Mount Vernon FR Expands Operations in Georgia

Mount Vernon FR announces plans to expand operations at its Trion, Georgia facility.

TRION, Ga.-Mount Vernon FR announces plans to expand operations at its Trion, Georgia facility. The expansion will add 4,500 square feet of production space to the location.

The company says the expansion comes in part as a response to increased demand for its flame-resistant products. The new space will feature fire-resistant treatment equipment, and the company projects an increase in production and finished fabric capacity by 20%.

“This is an exciting time for Mount Vernon FR, but our rapid growth has presented challenges with space to accommodate the equipment required to manufacture an ever-expanding range of FR products,” says Mike Woods, vice president of flame-resistant fabrics for Mount Vernon FR. “This additional square footage will allow us to better serve current and future customer demand.”

The company says it experienced year-over-year growth in 2018 and projects to complete the expansion by third-quarter 2019.

“Our fabrics are Made in the USA from fiber to finished yard, all under one roof,” Woods adds. “As our business continues to innovate and grow, the expansion enables us to provide customers across the globe with access to durable, high-performing fabrics from Mount Vernon FR.”

Mount Vernon FR is part of Mills’ Apparel Fabrics, a manufacturer of denim, flame-resistant, and piece-dyed fabric. The Mount Vernon line accounts for more than half of all company sales.
