Mood Media Announces New Chief Executive Officer

David Hoodis brings to his new company decades of experience in working in all types of retail environments.

hoodisAustin, Texas-based Mood Media, a provider of multi-media audio/visual solutions that serve a variety of industries, announces a pair of new executive appointments, following the January retirement of former president and CEO Steven Richards.

The company’s board of directors has appointed David Hoodis as CEO, effective immediately. According to Mood Media, Hoodis brings more than three decades of leadership and operational experience from organizations across the retail landscape. Throughout his career, he has developed innovative business solutions for retailers that helped them drive topline growth. At the same time, he has leveraged existing talent and industry-leading expertise at organizations to maximize revenue generation, control costs and strengthen operating margins.

Hoodis spent the past three years at IRI as president of its retail division. His background also includes roles as VP of software strategy and innovation at NCR; CEO and co-founder of Snack Box; president and chief operating officer of Modell’s Sporting Goods; and VP of innovation and operations at Walmart. He has also served on numerous boards of advisors groups including Freshub, Systems Alliance and Natural Insight.

The board of directors also announced that Ken Eissing, current president of Mood’s In-Store Media Division, has now been appointed president of Mood Media.

“David has spent his entire career at the intersection of retail and customer experience, which provides him with the insight and relationships to open doors and drive value for Mood Media across client verticals,” says David Sambur, senior partner at Apollo Global Management and a member of Mood’s board of directors. “I believe his decisive, results-driven approach and long history of developing successful growth strategies for technology-enabled businesses will make a very strong impact.”

Sambur adds, “We are also pleased to recognize Ken’s contributions to Mood Media with his promotion to president, and we look forward to continuing to work with him in driving day-to-day operations of the company.”
