The Advantages of Laser Marking Metal

One of the main advantages of laser marking metal is durability.

Physically: Metal labels can survive in harsher conditions in terms of heat, abrasion, and can be attached with adhesive or mechanical fasteners.

Perceived: There’s a higher perceived value with added weight, rigidity, and in appearance. The biggest drawback being, parts cannot be marked and cut out with a standard marking laser, like they can when marking plastics. Metal needs to be cut using either a metal shear or a high-power CO₂ laser.
