Speed Up the Sandcarving Process

Beware: this tip is not recommended for sandcarving fine details.

A way to speed up the sandcarving process is change to a coarser grit; this etches the item faster and the abrasive will last longer. However, confirm the photoresist film you use can handle a coarser grit. For example, most customers use a standard 150 grit aluminum oxide or silicon carbide. This grit is perfect for glass, crystal, metal, wood, and ceramic. Use a 120 grit to process the etch faster. This is not recommended for extremely fine detail in a design or fine crystal.
