How can competition in the marketplace be a good thing?

The bottom line is that competition is all around us and is an everyday component of social interaction. It allows us to thrive, prosper, and measure ourselves against others. It is possible that if competition did not exist, there might not be an awards industry. For the most part, the recipients of our industry’s end products are those who have taken competition to heart, embraced it, and ultimately put it to use in the spirit of accomplishment.
