Ultimate Athletic Sportswear Teams Up with Patrick Mahomes for T-Shirt Design

It's the second year Mahomes has partnered with the custom apparel and promo products company

For the second year, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes partners with Hy-Vee and J. Doole Promotions Inc., dba Ultimate Athletic Sportswear, to design T-shirts for the team’s “Run it Back” tour.

According to FOX4 in Kansas City, John Doole, president of the Parkville, Missouri, custom apparel and promotional products company, the partnership is a sign his business is doing well.

“It’s pretty exciting. We print around the clock to keep up with the demand,” Doole says. “Demand is down a little bit from last year because it’s the second year (and) everyone has everything.”

Doole adds that the drop in sales doesn’t compare to other companies creating Chiefs merchandise. Mahomes’ hand in the design and autograph on the T-shirt are what “makes these shirts so hot,” according to Doole. “With Patrick Mahomes, there’s no other shirt like this,” he says.

According to FOX4, there won’t be as many shirts available as there were last year due to COVID-19 restrictions and distancing inside Ultimate Athletic’s building and around its production floor.

Those interested in buying a T-shirt can find them in red, black, white, and gray, in limited supply only at Hy-Vee stores, a supermarket chain.

“We have never experienced any type of relationship with an athlete or property like this that is so willing to be a part of the design process,” Doole tells FOX4. “He wants to make sure that we’re doing things that he thinks the fans will want, so it’s quite incredible to be associated with Patrick Mahomes just because he wants everything to be done right.”

Doole says Ultimate Athletic is holding tight and ready to print MVP shirts for Mahomes if he adds that award to his 2020 season.
