Marketing Your Small Business: Part 4

The fourth and final strategy has a little something to do with word-of-mouth

A word-of-mouth strategy can be another great way to market your small business. We can create a lot of business from our circle of influence, so do not take this for granted. A great way to get started is to ask for reviews, find out how people learned about your business, and follow up with customers shortly after they purchase; but have a plan for what to do with that information when you receive it. Thank-you notes go a long way and encourage customers to keep talking about your business with others; basically, have a call-to-action for them.

A book I recommend that can give you some insight is “Talk Triggers” by Jay Baer and Daniel Lemin. It helps give you a way to talk about your business. Remember we all can influence, so learn to talk about your business to meet your customer’s needs.

Look back on what you may have missed: Part 1, Part 2, or Part 3.
