Gildan Appoints New Chairman of the Board

MONTREAL-Gildan’s Board of Directors announces it has approved the appointment of Donald C. Berg as Chairman of the Board. Berg’s position takes effect May 2, 2019, contingent upon his re-election at the company’s annual shareholder meeting that day.

Berg succeeds William D. Anderson, who is retiring as chairman, but who is seeking re-election to the board to support what Gildan describes as “a seamless transition at the company.”

Anderson’s term as chairman of the board dates back to February 2012 and he has held a position as a director since 2006. Berg has served as a director since 2015, and his term includes service on all three of the board’s committees during his tenure. Berg’s previous board of directors experience includes service at Meredith Corporation and Beam Suntory International.
