Universal Lighting Technologies Hires Two in West Coast Sales
David Karpinski and Craig Baum both bring decades of experience to their new jobs at Universal.
Nashville, Tennessee-based Universal Lighting Technologies, a supplier of LED lighting for a variety of applications, announces the hiring of David Karpinski and Craig Baum, each to serve the company’s customers and potential customers in the western U.S.
Karpinski has been hired as director of sales, OEM West and National Accounts.
In his new role, Karpinski will be responsible for managing Universal’s relationships with OEM lighting partners in the company’s western region, as well as corporate initiatives with key national accounts.
“We are excited to have someone with David’s comprehensive knowledge in business development and consultative sales approach join our team,” says Thomas Kim, VP of OEM sales for Universal. “As a proven expert in the industry, we are confident David will go above and beyond to serve our lighting customers, while mutually growing our EVERLINE LED component business.”
Karpinski brings more than 20 years of industry experience to the company, with an extensive background in lighting component sales and national account management.
Craig Baum joins Universal Lighting Technologies as regional sales manager for West Coast distribution.
In this role, Baum is responsible for overseeing the agents, distributors and end users for the company’s western U.S. region. His sales region will include the states of Washington, Oregon, Nevada, California, Arizona, Montana and New Mexico.

Baum has more than 25 years of experience in sales and marketing, and brings an in-depth knowledge of lighting controls and electrical products to his new company.
