Koozie Group is excited to announce the graduation of the second service dog, Daphne, from its sponsored litter with 4 Paws for Ability. Koozie Group has been supporting 4 Paws for Ability since 2022; the giveback was started by IMAGEN Brands before it integrated into the Koozie Group portfolio.

Daphne was matched with siblings Sophia and Wesley, who hail from Kentucky. She replaces the family’s first service dog, Stoutland, who was also trained by 4 Paws for Ability.

Sophia and Wesley’s mom had this to say about the life-changing journey of adding Daphne to their family, “Our first service dog, Stoutland, is ready to retire and will stay with us. Daphne is a wonder dog — she’s truly super smart! She will be doing diabetic detection because my son has lows in the middle of the night. Even though we have alarms, they don’t wake him up. She’ll also do behavior disruption. Stoutland was trained just for autism, and since Daphne is trained for much more, she’s going to create a lot of freedom for both Sophia and Wesley. Daphne will go to school with Sophia during the day and help Wesley at night. She is really going to help my kids.”

“We’re honored to have played a small part in Daphne becoming a service dog and are thrilled to know what a positive impact she’ll make for Sophia and Wesley,” said Trisha Joyce employee engagement and communications manager at Koozie Group. “We love supporting organizations such as 4 Paws for Ability as part of our ‘Keep It. Give It.’ program.”

Daphne is the second dog from the litter sponsored by Koozie Group to graduate. Three dogs are still in advanced training, and four are now “Fabulous Flunkies,” the term of endearment given to dogs who don’t master the skills needed to become service dogs and are adopted out.
