Hohenstein Opens Testing Laboratory in India
Hohenstein opens a new testing laboratory in Gurugram, India.
BÖNNIGHEIM, Germany-Hohenstein opens a new testing laboratory in Gurugram, India. The research foundation says the new lab allows Hohenstein to offer its “tailor-made services” in the region.
The new office adds to Hohenstein’s growing global network. Earlier this summer the company announced plans to open a facility in Dhaka, Bangladesh, a high-volume region for textiles and apparel manufacturing.
“For more than 70 years, Hohenstein has stood for textile expertise along the entire textile production chain,” says Dr. Stefan Mecheels, head of the research institute. “With the new laboratories in India and Bangladesh, we’re growing a network of expertise from which everyone will benefit.”

Mecheels points out that the cooperation between the Southeast Asian offices and Hohenstein laboratories in Germany and Hong Kong “ensures more customer proximity and faster order processing.”
The new location measures roughly 32,000 square feet and features 50 employees. Similar to its other labs, the new office offers textile manufacturers, suppliers, and retailers a combination of textile technology and chemical tests such as performance testing, restricted substance list (RSL) compliance, harmful substance control, quality control and inspections, and report services.
