BOENNIGHEIM, Germany-Hohenstein Group expands its worldwide services with a new laboratory in Dhaka, Bangladesh. The announcement follows six months of construction and investments in “cutting-edge technology,” says the organization.

Like their German headquarters, the group’s Dhaka facility offers chemical and textile technology testing for textile manufacturers, brands, and retailers. Test services include screening for harmful substances, performance tests, and quality controls like colorfastness, pilling, and water retention. The facility features a staff of 30 local employees with plans for additional staff in the future.

Stefan Mecheels, head of the research institute, says that the Bangladesh office maintains a direct line of contact with Germany. “Hohenstein is all about proximity to the customer and German quality,” explains Mecheels. “In Bangladesh, we are in close contact with our laboratories in Germany and Hong Kong.”

The new location adds to the group’s growing international network. Hohenstein operates more than 30 branch and contact offices worldwide with a workforce of more than 1,000 employees.
