Master Italia S.p.A, the Italian parent company of Atlantis Headwear, is proud to announce that it recently obtained the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Global Recycled Standard (GRS) product certifications.

According to the company, these certifications mark a significant milestone in Master Italia’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and responsible manufacturing.

The goal of these certifications is to define globally recognized requirements to ensure the organic and/or recycled status of textiles, from harvesting raw materials through environmentally and socially responsible manufacturing, up to labeling, providing credible assurance to the customer.

The Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), promoted by leading international organizations in organic agriculture, requires the issuance of a third-party verified statement attesting to the content of natural fibers from organic farming in both intermediate and finished products. This certification maintains traceability throughout the entire production process, imposes restrictions on the use of chemicals, and ensures compliance with environmental and social criteria at all stages of the production chain. Master Italia S.p.A is GOTS certified by ICEA, ICEA-TX-3146.

The Global Recycled Standard (GRS), the most important voluntary international standard for recycled textiles, is promoted by the non-profit Textile Exchange. This certification requires a third-party verified statement guaranteeing the percentage of recycled materials and tracking it at every stage of the supply chain until it reaches the finished product. It also ensures the companies throughout the production chain have met social, environmental, and chemical requirements. Master Italia S.p.A is GRS certified by ICEA, ICEA-TX-3146.

“Achieving GOTS and GRS certifications underscores our dedication to sustainable practices and responsible manufacturing,” said Atlantis Headwear Vice President Federico Pasini. “It’s another step in our mission to lead the industry toward more eco-conscious choices.”
