Profiting in the Pet Market
The trick is to offer items that have a higher perceived value than their actual worth. Sublimation pro Aaron Montgomery explains here...
Pet beds are perceived as valuable personalized products for your pet and can be made by sewing a pillow inside a sublimated beach towel or blanket. Even if you don’t have the ability to do the sewing, there are contract companies that will do that for you.
Another idea is to offer a pet kit, where you offer a pet bowl, a pet place mat, a pet bandana, a collar, and a pet tag all together with the same designs and personalization. This way you are selling a $100 pet kit as opposed to a $5 pet tag.
You could also decorate a mouse pad with a collage of the customer’s favorite pet mouse. The key is to make sure that you have some stock templates ready to go and allow the customer to simply provide a picture or two and some text while you handle the rest. Even though they’ve already seen the photos, they will be excited seeing the finished pieces because they don’t have the ability to build something without some help from you.
