Florida Awards Shop Celebrates 40 Years

The one-stop personalization business specializes in everything from plaques and trophies to interior signage and custom gifts

Award Masters celebrates its 40th year serving the Pensacola, Florida, community. The awards store was founded in 1981 by Michael Schmitz, then bought in 2006 by Eddie and Tammi Hill.

The one-stop personalization business specializes in plaques, trophies, and medals to name badges, interior signage, laser engraving, advertising and promotional items, flags, personalized gifts, and wedding favors.

During his time in the industry, owner Eddie has completed a variety of projects. “One of my favorite projects was when we engraved these 12″ by 12″ travertine tiles as a fundraiser for St. Sylvester Church in Gulf Breeze,” he states. “We did over 360 of them and helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for an expansion of the auditorium.”

As Pensacola’s largest awards shop, Award Masters is known for donating to the local community whenever possible. The shop often provides name tags for the Gulf Coast Kids House, recognizes community coaches, and donates to school tournaments. The Hill family has gained recognition during their time in the industry, including receiving the Certified Recognition Master designation.

Eddie says “seeing the power of recognition” is his favorite part of the job. He adds, “We get to be a small part in making someone’s moment last a lifetime.”

To celebrate the milestone anniversary, Award Masters is running a promotion. For every purchase over $100, customers receive free 10.5 X 13” pad folders – a $49 value.

After 40 years in the industry Award, Masters looks forward to another 40 years.
