Making the Most Out of a Small Office Space: Part Two

Setting up the ideal small office space is simpler than you may think.

  • Get rid of anything on the floor. Take a look at the floor space available to you and move anything that doesn’t have to sit on the floor. Think vertical space utilization.
  • Consider standing workstations. If you have a small space, you may be more productive if you stand. You have shorter phone calls and it’s better for your posture if you’re not sitting all the time. Standing workstations are ideal for small spaces. You’ll be amazed at how much office space it frees up if you don’t have a chair taking up space in front of your desk.
  • As you utilize the least amount of space, you want to label all of your cables and wires. If you have a problem with a computer and you’ve got a spaghetti-looking monstrosity under your desk, it’s going to take up a lot of time to extricate the cables and wires to one computer. Label everything and bundle it together so it’s easier to access the wires in your office.
