Add Value to Personalized Items with a QR Code

When scanned on a smartphone, the 2-D barcode can reveal a video, audio, or photo.

A QR Code is a 2-D barcode that stores information such as an image, video, or audio file. The information stored in a QR Code can be read using a smartphone camera or application. The generator and scanner are free but can add priceless value to your designs.

Imagine that someone is requesting a wedding photo on a decorative box, and you are able to upsell them (i.e. for an extra fee) by adding audio and/or a video of the wedding vows with the code. Your customers will be so intrigued by this idea, they won’t mind the extra charge.

There are endless items that this can be applied to mugs, plaques, and dog tags are just a few examples. Special occasions that it would be perfect for include: Mother’s and Father’s Day, an anniversary, a memorial, celebrating a newborn, Christmas, and so on.

Instruct your customers to search for a QR Reader in their smartphone’s app store. Apple has built QR Code recognition directly into its camera app, which means all you need to do is open it and point it at the desired code in question.
