Today’s consumers are internet-driven. The phrase “Google It” is common lingo now. The younger generation may not remember: we used to have turntables that spun vinyl records and a giant book we called the Yellow Pages. We had to go to the record store to get the vinyl music, and when we needed products or services, we looked up businesses in the giant yellow book of knowledge and called someone from a device plugged into a special socket.
Today, the first thing anyone does is refer to the internet. And if your business is not there, not only are you missing those consumers, you are losing out on legitimacy. Your internet presence makes a statement that you are a certifiable and engaged entity. Without an internet presence, you’re a business without a business card.
