Features of a User-Friendly Site

What makes a user-friendly site user-friendly?

What features should a site have to make it more user-friendly?

  • First and foremost: speed. If you want someone to buy something, provide them with a button to buy it. If you want someone to contact you for a quote, give them a button to do so. I have a “three clicks or less” rule. Click one gets the user to the site, click two gets the call-to-action done (add to cart, buy now, contact us, subscribe, etc.), and click three, if necessary, gets it all finished.
  • Second – and very important – be mobile-friendly. Search engines recognize whether or not your site is mobile-compatible and rank you accordingly for mobile users, in addition to the stats that indicate high volumes of consumers using mobile devices rather than desktops.
