Where is the current demand for individualized products coming from?

A big part of the demand is the noisy world we now live in being connected 24/7. We want to be able to stand out from the crowd and be different. Plus, we are far more used to personalization in general.

I no longer get a newspaper that is the same as the newspaper my neighbor got, I now receive the news personalized for me via Twitter or Google. So why can’t I have my own shirt, socks, or decorated mug that is all me?

Digital technology like DTG, sublimation, etc. are certainly driving this from a print production side and then adding in e-commerce and automation, this now allows producers to customize each piece and fit it right into their regular workflow. No extra handling, customer interactions, or hand-holding, so it becomes affordable for everyone to have their own item.
