Some experts say a website is only necessary once a business reaches 1,000 social media followers. I have to disagree here. Your website is your own space on the internet that you have complete control over. With Facebook or Instagram, if you spend all of your time trying to get eyeballs on their properties, what happens when they decide to change the rules again?
Time and time again, businesses have taken massive hits when changes are made, so you have to reverse your mindset and realize that the purpose of Facebook/Instagram and other social media platforms is to drive traffic to your site. It’s essential if you are a small business trying to market your offerings/products.
Also, in today’s digital age, your website serves as your storefront and business card. People want to go to your site to see how professional you are and if you are worthy of them spending their money with you. It doesn’t have to be an eCommerce site or some extravagant design, but a clean and straightforward one-page site that gives them the details they need and allows them to connect and work with you.
