The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Programme welcomes new contributors to its Value Chain Affiliate category.
AMSTERDAM-The Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals (ZDHC) Programme welcomes new contributors to its Value Chain Affiliate category. Two of the three new groups include textile companies.
Through joining the category, the companies commit to ZDHC’s vision of widespread implementation of sustainable chemistry. The newest groups include Smart Shirts Limited, a subsidiary company of Sunrise Group. The group operates a complete supply chain of yarn spinning, fabric weaving and finishing, garment manufacturing, and import and export trading.
In addition to Smart Shirts, ZDHC welcomes American & Efird (A&E). A&E joined the organization initially in 2017, and ZDHC says the new category furthers the company’s commitment to sustainability and chemical management. Elevate Textiles, parent company of A&E, announced in a separate statement that it is also expanding participation in the ZDHC program across its entire portfolio of brands including Burlington, Cone Denim, Gütermann, and Safety Components.
