Vernon Names Showdown Displays Supplier of the Year for Second Year in a Row

The Vernon Co. says it has never given the award to the same supplier before, but its customers spoke loud and clear about who they preferred.

vernon_showdownThe Newton, Iowa-based Vernon Co., a full-service graphics and promotional products company founded in 1902, recognizes Brooklyn Center, Minnesota-based Showdown Displays, makers of banners, flags, and other event and display products, as its 2018 Supplier of the Year.

The award was given recently at The Vernon Co.’s national sales meeting in San Diego in April. It’s the second straight year Vernon has given that award to Showdown.

The company says its Supplier of the Year Award is given annually to the industry supplier that provides the best overall service to The Vernon Co. and its customers. The award is based on considerations such as product selection and quality, pricing, customer service, problem resolution and marketing support programs.

“Typically, we like to spread the love around and recognize a different supplier each year because we have so many great ones,” says Vicki Palm, director of marketing for Vernon. “But results of our survey don’t lie, and the results were pretty lopsided for this supplier. So, for the first time ever, we had a back-to-back award winner. Vernon sales with Showdown increased nearly 40 percent over the past year on top of the 20 percent increase last year.”

Shari Garvalis, national account manager for Showdown Displays, accepted the award for her company.
