ISSAQUAH, Wash.-The SanMar Corporation wraps its annual charitable giving campaign with a donation to the Virginia Mason Hospital’s Bailey-Boushay House. The Seattle-based organization helps with treatment assistance, outpatient services, and resources for individuals battling HIV and AIDS.

As part of the effort, SanMar hosted a variety of events to raise funds for the foundation. Through activities like karaoke, raffles, auctions, and dunk tanks, the company says it was able to raise more than $120,000 for the foundation in employee-generated donations. Efforts spanned all SanMar facilities, including corporate offices and distribution centers, with the participation of more than 3,500 employees. The project marks the fourth year the company has hosted a two-week campaign for local organizations.

The company says it was “moved by (the Bailey-Boushay House’s) dedication to providing exceptional care for some of the most vulnerable people in our community” after a recent visit to the location.

In recent weeks, the company presented a check to the organization with the final donation total, $130,000.

“This donation will surely make a difference in the lives of so many people in our community,” says Jeremy Lott, president of SanMar.

Brian Knowles, director of Bailey-Boushay House, adds that the organization is thankful for SanMar’s donation.

“The gift is life-changing for our clients,” comments Knowles. “This generosity will impact the health and safety of the most vulnerable individuals in our community.”

The donation goes towards the foundation’s efforts for treatment assistance, housing solutions, and supplies like food and clothing.

“I am thankful we have places like Bailey-Boushay in our community and thankful for people like their director Brian Knowles who finds a way to say ‘Yes’,’ says Lott. “He has limited space and limited funds, but when someone gives him a challenge, he figures out a way to say ‘Yes!'”
