Transfer Express Earns 2019 Sustainability Award
Transfer Express earns the 2019 Sustainable Business Recognition Award from the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA).
MENTOR, Ohio-Transfer Express earns the 2019 Sustainable Business Recognition Award from the Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA). The annual program recognizes companies who have reduced their environmental footprint, and improved efficiency and employee health throughout the previous year.
Transfer Express partnered with SACS Consulting in 2017 to conduct a detailed threat assessment for the company’s facilities. Upgrades were made to transfer the monitoring of alarms, cameras, and building access control to the company’s headquarters in Michigan. With the enhancements, the company says employees stated they felt more secure at the facility. Transfer Express says it plans to enact additional safety and security measures.
The company also made changes in its prepress room by incorporating a new automatic dryer. The dryer decreased screen load and re-load times by 30% and increased production output from 17 screens per hour to 45 screens per hour.
