swissQprint expands with new facility in the US
Scheduled to be completed by mid-2026, the new building will span 24,780 square feet.

swissQprint, a Swiss manufacturer of large-format printers, announced the construction of new premises in the U.S.
This is said to mark a significant step forward in the company’s growth in North America. According to swissQprint, the new facility will enhance its ability to serve its customers and showcase its technology.
Kilian Hintermann, CEO of swissQprint, shared his enthusiasm about the project: “We continue to see North America as a growth market. This new facility for our U.S. subsidiary is a testament to our commitment to serving our North American customers even better.”
swissQprint America is currently headquartered in Elgin, Illinois, providing sales and after-sales services, with an additional demo center located in Irvine, California.
The new facility will be situated on three acres within West Dundee, Illinois, strategically located approximately 10 minutes closer to the Chicago O’Hare airport than the current premises.
“The heart of the new facility is the expanded showroom to feature our large format printers and applications, along with increased capacity for our applications and service teams. All of this is designed so that we can deliver exceptional support and experiences for our customers,” explained Erik Norman, president of swissQprint America.
The new building will span 24,780 square feet. Key features include a 4,757-square-foot showroom and hospitality area, a dedicated training center for individual or group applications training, and 2,192 square feet dedicated to machine refurbishing and service. Also, the building will have significantly expanded warehouse and office space compared to the existing Elgin premises. Overall, the company stated that the U.S. team looks forward to a 130% increase in space.
Reflecting swissQprint’s commitment to environmental responsibility, approximately 400 solar panels are planned to be installed to supply power from renewable resources.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building took place on July 9, and the facility is scheduled to be completed by mid-2026. The site provides an option to expand an additional 15,000 square feet to accommodate future growth. While leaving the Elgin base, swissQprint America will keep the Californian demo center to cater to the Western States and Western Canada.
Heitman Architects Inc. designed the building, and construction will be done by The DSI Group. swissQprint was represented by Bespoke Commercial Real Estate.
