DUBUQUE, Iowa-Shirt Lab, a new sales and marketing training workshop for apparel decorators, wraps up its first event in Columbus, Ohio. Hosts concluded the workshop on Oct. 27.
Hosting a sold-out crowd, instructors conducted a master class on different sales and marketing strategies and tactics targeted to the decorated apparel industry. Instructors included industry veterans such as Jay Busselle with Equipment Zone, Ryan Moor, CEO of Ryonet, and Chris Bernat, chief revenue officer with Vapor Apparel. Topics ranged from how to maintain authenticity and maximizing social media presence to incorporating a “Blue Ocean Strategy” to sidestep competition.
“At Shirt Lab, we learned the principles and a realistic game plan for creating and distributing modern, compelling, relevant digital marketing content that is going to take us to the next level,” states attendee Joel Hebert. “The other thing we learned was a few ways working within the framework of a digital economy to create new revenue streams beyond what we’re currently doing.”
Shirt Lab founders Tom Rauen and Marshall Atkinson plan to hold four events in 2019, one per quarter. While dates and venues are to-be-determined, the founders name Atlanta (Q1), Portland (Q2), Baltimore (Q3), and St. Louis (Q4) as forthcoming cities. Topics for future installments include retail and fashion, contract decoration, programs and fulfillment, and athletic events.
