PVH Corp. Contributes $1 Million to Fordham University’s Gabelli School of Business
PVH Corp. unveils a new five-year partnership with the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University with a $1 million contribution.
NEW YORK-Fashion and lifestyle company PVH Corp. unveils a new five-year partnership with the Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University with a $1 million contribution. According to PVH, the agreement is designed to establish an academic hub for the study of Corporate Responsibility (CR) and Sustainability.
“The partnership will work to develop students into the conscientious business leaders of tomorrow,” the company explains in an announcement, adding that the hub aims to “advance relationships between industry and academia to enhance sustainability curriculum and convene global thought leaders.”
The groups expect to provide a variety of programming and opportunities such as a quarterly lecture series, research programs for both faculty and students, and new academic offerings for undergraduate and graduate students.
“This partnership demonstrates PVH and Fordham’s shared commitment to educate the future by harnessing the power of corporate responsibility for both financial successes and societal impact,” comments Manny Chirico, CEO and chairman at PVH. Chirico is a Gabelli alumnus, sits on the board of trustees, and in 2018 received an honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the university.
Donna Rapaccioli, Ph.D., dean of the Gabelli School of Business, notes that the agreement “will prove that two organizations with very similar values, but in very different industries, can meaningfully connect to support social and environmental good at a time when we need it most.”
The company adds that the partnership will combine PVH’s corporate responsibility strategy with the university’s socially-conscious business education to “create a sustainable and responsible future.”
