IRVING, Texas-Promotional Products Association International (PPAI) recognizes Rod Brown, founder of MadeToOrder, as the 2020 H. Ted Olson Humanitarian Award recipient. Brown receives the award at an upcoming ceremony in Las Vegas.

Named after the organization’s former president, PPAI gives the award to members who “have shown long-standing empathy, devotion, and commitment to improving quality of life and facilitating change for the betterment of a community.” The organization says it chose Brown mainly based on his commitment to humanitarian work in Mexico for more than a decade. Brown travels to the country with a team of 40 adults and 250 high school students who strategically break into groups and help construct housing for residents in the border region near Tijuana. PPAI says Brown’s charitable work also extends to Africa, with projects including construction, tool donations, and raising funds and clothing for a school for the blind.

“Rod has always gone above and beyond in his service to this great industry and all that he touches,” says nominator Tom Goos, president of Image Source. “I can’t think of a better person to receive the H. Ted Olson Humanitarian Award.”

PPAI says it will present Brown with the award Jan. 13, 2020 at a ceremony at Mandalay Bay Convention center.
