Orbus Celebrates 20 Years of ISO Certification
Orbus says the time, money and energy it puts into improving efficiencies is definitely worth the investment.
In December 2019, Woodridge, Illinois-based trade show display and exhibit manufacturer Orbus Exhibit & Display Group passed what it calls a very special milestone: the company marked 20 years of ISO Certification. Orbus holds ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management, providing its distributors the highest quality of products and services in the industry; and it also holds ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management, motivating its increased environmental protection initiatives and driving Orbus to recycle 90% of its total waste.
On December 13, 2019, Orbus was presented with an award for its commitment during a small ceremony that took place at its headquarters.
Additionally, in 2018, Orbus implemented 5S Lean Training Initiatives in all departments, creating a cleaner and more efficient workspace for all employees. In 2019, it started to adopt Six Sigma principals, a data-driven method of evaluating product, process or service use and creation to ensure that variation and defects are reduced or eliminated. Orbus’ Las Vegas facility recently had three of its employees achieve Six Sigma Green Belt Status, a recognition of proficiency in training and application of Six Sigma practices. By the early part of this year, the company’s Woodridge location will have more than 20 employees certified.
“Every process and product is constantly being evaluated to ensure that Orbus is providing the best to its dealers and that the Orbus team members are using their time most effectively,” says Giles Douglas, president and CEO. “These initiatives have had a great impact on the operations and our production teams and we look forward to continuous knowledge gain, better practice and growth.”
