ORAFOL Chief Named to German Business Hall of Fame

Holger Loclair's time with ORAFOL dates back to when it was a much-smaller state-owned company called GDR. Today ORAFOL employs about 2,500 globally.

ORAFOL Europe GmbH, the corporate headquarters of the global manufacturer of specialty tapes, films and adhesives, announces that the managing partner of ORAFOL in Oranienburg, Germany, Holger Loclair, recently received a distinct honor courtesy of the German newspaper Handelsblatt.

Handelsblatt recently hosted its 12th Business Hall of Fame ceremony, to honor outstanding German entrepreneurs, and Loclair was named as the first East German to ever be inducted into the Hall of Fame of German family businesses.

Loclair’s time with the company goes back decades. A chemist by training, he was group leader and later plant manager of GDR, a state-owned company that was the predecessor of Orafol.

According to the newspaper, the individuals inducted into the annual Hall of Fame ceremony “have been driving the future of the country and have made exceptional contributions to the development of the German economy.”
