Salt Lake City-based Onyx Graphics, a developer of RIP software and workflow systems for the signage and commercial graphics industry, announces the launch of ONYX 19 certification workshops.

The certification workshops will incorporate the new features and benefits of the company’s recently released ONYX 19 software. ONYX 19 introduces DeviceLink+, an all-new system of color management automation, as well as iccMAX v5 profiling capability and three new dot patterns for improved output smoothness across all wide-format print applications including soft signage and textile, Onyx says.

The company says the one- and two-day programs-offered at both introductory and expert levels-incorporate a new focus on color management automation and device simulation without the need to re-read in swatches or use a color measurement device, drastically reducing the time needed to profile or establish ink savings for any existing media mode. As part of the programs, attendees will also explore new dot pattern technology with hands-on profiling training for real-world print applications, including a comprehensive guide to output smoothness for soft signage and textile.

“The need for outstanding color output has received massive interest in the past few years and continues to gain momentum as a key differentiator for print shops wanting to stand out against their competition,” says Bryan Manwaring, director of product marketing at Onyx Graphics. “But that’s not all; good color management is hard. Print shops need a solution that makes color management simple with the ability to easily achieve the best possible color, which is the purpose of the new color tools found exclusively in ONYX 19 software.”
