Ohio Company Announces Long-Time Sign Maker’s Retirement
Mike Bethel was a sign maker for more than 40 years.
Columbus, Ohio-based Advance Sign Group announces the retirement of Mike Bethel, a fixture in the sign industry for more than 40 years.
The company says Bethel has been making signs for Advance Sign for the past 18 years, leaving Columbus with many noteworthy samples of his work, including the AMC theater marquee at a local shopping mall; the pylon adorning the local Ricart automobile dealership; and a pylon for amusement park King’s Island.
The company adds that his work is also seen elsewhere, as its national customer base has been growing.
In its announcement, Advance Sign quotes a former colleague and personal friend of Bethel, Kenny Chumley: “Mike was very instrumental in the design as well as the structural integrity of many large signage projects we performed for our clients. He is a one-of-a-kind talent and he will be missed.”
And Advance Sign conclude its announcement this way: “All of us at Advance Sign Group admire Mike for his dedication to the company, his wealth of industry knowledge, and the pride he always shows in his work. We congratulate Mike and wish him well in his retirement. Thank you, Mike!”
