Broomfield, Colorado-based BSC Signs, a full-service sign and graphics shop launched in 1999, recently assisted a nonprofit client in being able to deliver bicycles to children over this holiday season.

A Precious Child, a large, nonprofit agency that assists children and families facing difficult life challenges such as abuse and neglect, crisis situations and poverty, serves families and individuals throughout the Denver metro area. BSC Signs has worked with them for more than 10 years, providing monetary donations, volunteer work and fulfilling miscellaneous needs the organization may have. Earlier this year, BSC Signs not only fabricated, donated and installed interior and exterior signage-including a donor wall-for A Precious Child’s new building, but company employees even helped them move into the building.

Each holiday season, A Precious Child has a need for bicycles that it can donate through its “Precious Gift” holiday campaign. This year, BSC coordinated with another nonprofit, Wish For Wheels, to build 25 new Huffy bikes and donate them directly to A Precious Child-and even gave them helmets.

Wish for Wheels came to BSC Signs’ headquarters with all items needed and oversaw the event and BSC’s teams in the bike building activities.

“They made it very fun, a team building exercise, and as the organizer it was VERY easy to coordinate and set up,” says Angela Renfro, a sales executive with BSC that was the point person for the company on the project. She adds that, “(we) built first bikes with arms of partners tied together; built second bikes with one person blindfolded while the other used their words for directions.”

She adds this is the second time BSC Signs has worked with Wish for Wheels on donating bikes to the community.
