Featured Project: Canadian Restaurant Chain Outfitted with Cineplex Technology

Tim Hortons wanted only state-of-the-art signage in its new concept restaurant and it hired Toronto's Cineplex to deliver.

Venerable Canadian restaurant chain Tim Hortons recently opened what it says is its first “innovation café.”

Tim Hortons 130 King is located in the heart of downtown Toronto at the base of the historic Exchange Tower, The company says the restaurant is the modern interpretation of the Tim Hortons brand, and will be a space where it tests new menu items and technology initiatives.

In terms of the latter, the company partnered with Cineplex Digital Media on the electronic signage that’s located throughout. The café features a 98″ 4K video wall that will greet guests as they enter through the Exchange Tower. In addition, it will have what Tim Hortons is calling a “digital coffee education screen” that will tell the story of Tim Hortons 130 King as well as feature new beverage innovations, brewing methods and seasonal coffee specials.

Aside from its signature donuts and coffee, the 24-hour-a-day restaurant will offer a variety of premium soups and sandwiches.
