LONG BEACH, Calif.-Epson wins the Product of the Year award for its SureColor F6200 dye-sublimation printer. This is the third consecutive year the company has received the award.

The Specialty Graphic Imaging Association (SGIA)  selects the printer for the 2018 award in the “Roll-to-Roll Dye-Sublimation on Metal” category.

“Each year the competition gets stiffer as printing technologies advance and dye-sublimation becomes more commonly used within the printing industry,” says Tim Check, senior product manager, Professional Imaging, Epson America, Inc. “The SureColor F6200, when combined with Epson UltraChrome DS ink technology and the new Epson DS Transfer Photo Paper, is a full dye-sublimation solution optimized for rigid photo applications. We are delighted that the device and output quality was notable among some of the industry’s highest-quality manufacturers.”

The competition featured more than 100 companies with 255 entries in 74 categories. SGIA says it plans to display all entries at the organization’s expo in Las Vegas.

“This year we mixed it up and placed unique images that helped generate a more complete set of objective data to provide feedback to the judges,” says Ray Weiss, director of digital print programs, SGIA. “The competition was tight, and the results were outstanding. Epson’s award was well-earned.”
