EFI Appoints Bill Muir as New CEO
Bill Muir has spent the past quarter century at Jabil, where he has held a variety of top leadership roles.
Fremont, California-based large-format printer manufacturer EFI announces the appointment of William (Bill) Muir as its new CEO. Muir succeeds Guy Gecht, who informed the board in July that he intended to step down as CEO upon the appointment of his successor. Muir was chosen by the company’s board of directors and will join that board when he assumes his position this month.
Most recently, Muir was the chief operating officer at Jabil, a $22 billion product solutions company. He has spent the past 25 years helping leading brands bring products to market, and was instrumental in launching Jabil’s Blue Sky Innovation Center. He has a deep background in complex engineering and manufacturing and took over progressive leadership roles at Jabil, eventually landing the COO job at the company, which has more than 100 facilities and 170,000 employees globally.
Before that, Muir served as CEO of Jabil’s global manufacturing services, which at the time was a $14 billion division of the company, and he served as president of Jabil Asia.
“Bill is going to take EFI to the next level,” says Gecht. “At Jabil his experience and track record included scaling multi-billion dollar businesses, driving execution and setting the firm’s strategic direction. This background uniquely prepares him to be the next CEO of EFI.
