Durst, a manufacturer of advanced digital printing and production technologies, produces “community masks” in its customer experience center located in Brixen, Italy.
The company started production in mid-April, producing masks with a certified filter membrane, known as N95. Although the filter features hydrophobic properties and a microporous structure, the masks are not suitable for medical use.
For now, the manufacturing of masks is for Durst Group and sister company, Alupress.
Once this is complete, the company will make the production capacity and know-how available to other companies. Durst says it’s currently investigating possible distribution channels for end customers, to make the masks available to the general population.
