On March 7, Crystal D, a supplier of crystal awards and gifts, issued an alert about a cyber attack it had experienced.

Communication between Crystal D and its customers went down at approximately 7 a.m. CT on March 7. Phone and email accounts were not accessible. During this time, the company had to temporarily shut down parts of its network to address and resolve the issue.

As of March 12, the company reports it is back up and running.

“We are pleased to share that we are partially operational again and are actively reaching out to customers with in-house orders that have scheduled ship dates,” stated Crystal D in a press release. “For all other requests, we will address them within 48 hours. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to resolve this situation.”

It continued, “We are continuing our investigation to ensure the security of our network. At this time, we have no evidence to suggest that any customer information has been compromised. Rest assured, we are working as quickly and efficiently as possible to resolve the incident and will keep customers updated on the status of your orders.”

Orders scheduled to ship on March 12 will be rescheduled; the revised dates will be determined soon. Those with questions are asked to be patient until the company knows more information.

“Please watch for additional information to come. We are committed to keeping customers and partners updated with the best, most updated information available,” concluded the company.
