Charles River Apparel Donates Over $20,000 to Christmas in the City

Family-owned apparel company Charles River continues its annual tradition of volunteering and donating to Christmas in the City.

SHARON, Mass.-Family-owned apparel company Charles River continues its annual tradition of volunteering and donating to Christmas in the City, a nonprofit that helps families dealing with homelessness and poverty. In December 2019, Charles River increased its involvement with the nonprofit through additional monetary donations, new fundraising efforts, and employee volunteerism.

During the most recent Christmas in the City party at the Boston Convention Center, Charles River led a volunteer team made up of employees, friends, and family who helped during each day of the event. The event saw more than 6,000 Boston kids and families. Each child received a gift, a meal with their family, a backpack with new school supplies and toiletries, as well as free access to the indoor amusement park, a petting zoo, and other kid-friendly activities.

In addition, through sales made at Charles River’s first-ever Clothing for a Cause pop-up store, the company was able to donate more than $20,000 directly to Christmas in the City. Charles River employees also sold exclusive Christmas in the City Camden Crew Sweatshirts to volunteers, giving 100% of the sales directly to the charity.
