California-based Minuteman Press Franchisor Becomes Latest to Join Million-Dollar Circle

Peter Castorena comes from the world of corporate retail, and says he's learned a lot about running his own business thanks to Minuteman.

castorenaFarmingdale, New York-based franchisor Minuteman Press International announces that Peter Castorena, the owner of the Minuteman Press franchise in Lancaster, California, is now the newest member of the Minuteman Press International President’s Million-Dollar Circle, meaning his business has passed the yearly gross sales milestone of $1 million.

“It honestly feels like I finally made it, but as I look back at the years it took to get here and the business that’s been built, I’m glad for the journey along the way,” says Castorena. “It’s been a fun 13 years with Minuteman Press and I look forward to many more to come. Just because we’ve reached the Million-Dollar Circle, no one is interested in taking a break.  We’re excited to see what our little center in Lancaster, California, can do and what we can accomplish.”

Talking about his past work life, he says he decided to go out on his own he went with a franchise for a reason.

“I was a buyer for a national retail organization,” Castorena says. “It was a great job. I got to use someone else’s checkbook to develop a brand of business-everything from buying the right product, advertising it and selling it. One of the biggest knowledge gaps Minuteman Press helped me fill was corporate compartmentalization. In my previous life, there were departments that helped me handle things (HR, advertising, accounting, operations). From the first two weeks of franchise training through to today, Minuteman Press helps me with whatever aspect of my business I need a hand with, and they have taught me how to do all of these things as the business owner and not just an employee.”

Dan Byers, the company’s regional vice president for southern California, says Castorena and his team deserve a lot of credit for their achievement.

“Congratulations to Peter and his team for their exceptional efforts in building his business in Lancaster,” says Byers. “Peter follows the Minuteman Press franchise business model and he is truly passionate about helping his clients and community in any way he can to make a positive impact in Lancaster.”
