Ways to Add Dimension with Your Laser Engraver

Some options to consider.

Using stand-offs is a great way to create depth and dimension in signage, awards, plaques, etc. Another technique that can add to a layered look is inlays. The laser engraves away a “pocket” and then cuts the same shape out of a different material – such as a wood veneer – to fill the engraved pocket space. Deep engravings, which typically require multiple passes at a high power and low speed, are a great way to add contrast and depth.
