Tubelight Hosts National Sales Meeting
Along with the usual housekeeping and relaxation the event featured a party for outgoing VP of sales, Jim Turner.
Apopka, Florida-based Tubelite, a distributor to the sign, screen printing and digital imaging industries, recently held its annual National Sales Meeting in Celebration, Florida.
The company says the meeting is a chance for its sales team to learn about new products directly from some of the top vendors themselves, as well as enjoy some time networking, playing golf or hitting the spa.
One of highlights of this year’s meeting was a celebration of the retirement of the company’s former VP of sales, Jim Turner.
Turner, the company says, has been in the sign industry all of his working life. He started out in sign manufacturing and installation, and later on, he became a sales executive working with national accounts all over the United States. He started with Tubelite in October of 1991 as the manager of its Charlotte, North Carolina branch, and he quickly grew that business and moved it to a new company-owned location.
In 1996 Turner came to the corporate office near Orlando to serve as VP of sales, and he held that position for the next 24 years.
“He has been instrumental in the growth and the innovations that Tubelite has strived to attain since then,” the company says in its announcement. “We certainly will miss him.” Taking his place as VP of sales will be Larry Markert, who has been transitioning into that role for the last seven months.
Markert joins Tubelite with more than 30 years of experience in the sign industry.
