Toshiba Creating 40 Mississippi Jobs with New Distribution Center Opening
Toshiba is investing some $14 million in building this new facility, and is also receiving assistance from both state and local agencies.
Toshiba America Business Solutions, the Lake Forest, California-based U.S. division of the Japan-based company, is opening a new distribution operation in Horn Lake, Mississippi. The $14 million project will create 40 jobs by the time it opens in August, the company says.
“Toshiba is pleased to establish operations in Mississippi,” says R. Steven Tungate, Toshiba America Business Solutions vice president and general manager, Service, Supply Chain Management and Innovation. “Our new facility allows us to expand our distribution footprint to better serve our clientele.”
Toshiba America Business Solutions is a subsidiary of technology solutions company Toshiba Tec Corp. The company provides multifunction printers, including its award-winning e-STUDIO multifunction printer, managed document services and digital signage for businesses of all sizes throughout the United States, Mexico and Central and South America.
The new 238,355-square-foot distribution center is located at the company’s Core 5 DeSoto 55 Logistics Center. The new location will allow the company to expand its distribution capabilities to meet increasing client demand, it says.
The Mississippi Development Authority is assisting with equipment relocation. The city of Horn Lake and DeSoto County are providing property tax exemptions in support of the project.

Phil Bryant says. “There is no doubt that strong momentum will continue in 2020. The region’s outstanding transportation network allows industry leaders ease-of-access to their customers, and more and more companies continue to discover the many benefits of a North Mississippi location.”
The Horn Lake location is located along Interstate 55, which runs north-south, and is only miles from access to the east-west running Interstate 40.
