The Significance of Networking with Other Business Owners
You never know who could help you and who you can help.
Often when you network with other engraving shops, you get those why-didn’t-I-think-of-that moments. A business owner I visited in the past called those particular moments the willy fry moments. Willy fries were a fast food treat that combined fries and onion rings. As he said, “It was such a simple, yet ingenious idea that made so much sense.” It is these willy fry ideas that make attending trade shows and talking to other owners a huge reason for expanding your network. As the shop owner stated, “When you gather enough willy fry ideas, you’ve got something great.” I could not agree more.
By making friends in different cities, you can expand your network and resource base. Simply by visiting trade shows, you have a great chance to meet some interesting people – people who can help you and people who you can help.
