The M&R Companies Dedicates Training Facility to Joe Clarke
Before the end of the year the facility will become the Joe Clarke Printing Technology and Training Center.
Roselle, Illinois-based screen printing equipment manufacturer The M&R Companies pays homage to industry pioneer and figurehead Joe Clarke with a dedication at its training facility. Clarke passed away late last month after a more than four-decade career in the screen-printing world.
Peter Walsh, executive vice president at The M&R Companies, says the organization decided to rename its 10,000-square-foot facility after Clarke as a tribute to his legacy and extensive contributions to the printing industry. The company reached out to Rob Coleman, as well as Clarke’s family, to ask for approval on the name change. Coleman is the vice president of the textile business unit at Nazdar SourceOne and a close friend of Clarke.
“After receiving a positive response from (Joe Clarke’s wife) Colleen, Rob was kind enough to make an announcement to the attendees at Joe’s memorial service,” explains Walsh.
“We can’t think of a more fitting memorial to recognize Joe’s contributions as a pioneer and technology leader to the garment decorating industry than to rename our 10,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art-facility as the Joe Clarke Printing Technology and Training Center,” adds Danny Sweem, CEO at M&R.
The company offers a range of training opportunities throughout the year spanning from basic screen-printing techniques to in-depth, technical training.
Sweem says that M&R plans to hold a formal dedication of the facility in Clarke’s memory between late November and early December 2019.
