HASTINGS, Minn.-Apparel supplier Storm Creek announces it has contributed more than $50,000 to charity throughout 2019. In addition to financial support, the company donates products throughout the year to local and national emergency assistance programs.

According to the company, the final donation total is $50,002, which features more than $40,000 in donations to participating charity partners during Storm Creek’s annual warehouse sales and a $10,000 contribution towards 1% for the Planet. Money raised during the warehouse sales goes towards more than 25 charities through the company’s Shop for a Cause program.

“Shop for a Cause has become the foundation of our warehouse sale, making it a truly unique experience; it’s the reason people keep coming back year after year,” says Storm Creek CEO Teresa Fudenberg. “This year’s goal was $35,000, and it’s amazing to see how our community rallied to surpass that.”

Charities in the program span the gamut from larger organizations like the American Red Cross and the Ronald McDonald House to regional groups like the Hastings Show Choir and Hastings Hockey Association. With the company’s eco-collection, Storm Creek helps raise funds towards 1% for the Planet.

“Products in our eco-collection are made from at least 35% recycled materials like plastic bottles,” explains Fundenberg. “Since the initial introduction of the eco-collection in mid-2018, we have saved more than 1 million plastic bottles from ending up in landfills and oceans. Our new partnership with 1% for the Planet allows us to make an even more significant impact improving our environment in 2020 and beyond.”
