Ricoh USA Appears on Military Makeover: Operation Career

Ricoh USA has actually been recognized with a national award for its support and hiring of military veterans.

Tokyo-based Ricoh, a manufacturer of commercial inkjet printheads, large format printers and office imaging equipment, had its commitment to hiring and supporting U.S. veterans highlighted on national television. Some of its employee veterans appeared on “Military Makeover: Operation Career on Lifetime TV.

The TV segment told the story of how each Ricoh employees’ skills learned in the military transferred over to build successful careers at the company. Employees in the episode included:

  • Brian Brockson who served as Captain in the Army and is now the VP of Ricoh USA’s Supply Chain. Brockson tells how his experience on an Army flight crew parlayed into a leadership role at Ricoh.
  • Cassie Hill discussed how her time in the National Guard provided her with skills to build a career at Ricoh, where she grew from a customer service representative to a team lead.
  • Andrew Janovicz shared how four years of active duty in the Marine Corps led him to Ricoh. Today, Janovicz continues to be in the Marine Reserves. And as a Marine for Life representative, he helps transitioning Marines and families find new opportunities in civilian life.

“It was an honor for me to represent all of the Ricoh veterans and to share with the world why I believe Ricoh’s commitment to the military and its employees is unmatched,” says Brockson.

The Military Makeover segment also included footage from Ricoh’s fifth annual Run for Heroes event, which raises funds for veteran charities. The company also partners with organizations in the hiring of U.S. veterans, sponsors and attends veteran-centric career fairs, and recruits on military bases to help make veterans’ transition from military duty to a civilian career a smooth one. The company’s increase in its commitment to veteran hiring won Ricoh a Best Veteran Hiring award from the Coalition for Government Procurement.
