Ricoh Earns ENERGY STAR Award for 4th Consecutive Year
This is the second consecutive year the company has earned the Sustained Excellence distinction.
Tokyo-based Ricoh, a manufacturer of commercial inkjet printheads, large format printers and office imaging equipment, earns the 2019 ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year Sustained Excellence Award from ENERGY STAR. This marks the fourth consecutive year the company has received the ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year distinction, and the second consecutive year with the Sustained Excellence designation.
“Ethical responsibility to our society and our planet has been absolutely fundamental to Ricoh’s identity for decades, and we strive every day to live up to and build upon that legacy,” says Donna Venable, executive vice president of human resources and deputy general manager of shared services at Ricoh Americas. “At a time when environmental sustainability is a top concern for millions-and affects billions-it is incredibly important for companies to take sustained action. As a large, multinational corporation, Ricoh aims to do its part, striving to ensure our own operations embody sustainability while empowering digital workplaces to work smarter-and use energy smarter-with improved processes and ENERGY STAR-certified devices.”
ENERGY STAR presents the Sustained Excellence distinction at the Environmental Protection Agency’s discretion. Ricoh says the EPA and U.S. Department of Energy will recognize Sustained Excellence recipients at a ceremony in Washington D.C. later this week. The company points out that the ENERGY STAR recognitions come on the heels of numerous initiatives at the company to improve sustainability such as broadening the product line of ENERGY STAR-certified machines, employee engagement, renewable energy use, and customer outreach.
