Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems Semi-Automated Smart Material Handler
Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems has introduced a Smart Material Handler (SMH), a modular, sheet handling solution for the digital cutting of sign, display, folding carton, and corrugated applications. The new solution from Kongsberg PCS is designed to enhance the productivity of a user’s cutting table in multiple ways. It is developed to enable operators to load new materials while the cutter is still processing the previous sheet, acting as a buffer zone and allowing one operator to handle tasks that typically require two, cutting labour needs by 50%.
The SMH is comprised of a loading table with an optional underside camera that automatically detects registration marks and adjusts positioning, and an offloading table. Together, they act as extensions to the existing cutting table, semi-automating the production workflow, enabling smoother loading and offloading and bringing more flexibility to production. kongsbergsystems.com

DTF conveyor dryers from Vastex
Two new DTF capable conveyor dryers from Vastex are engineered to protect shop personnel from ethylene glycol, a toxic synthetic fluid emitted by DTF adhesives as a vapor during the curing process. Developed specifically for DTF curing, in which adhesives off-gas large volumes of glycol, the new dryers’ draw filtered makeup air through the top-center of the heating chamber, and through its double-wall top and sides, serving to cool the outer skin and chamber edges for operator safety.
Preheated makeup air flows into the heat chamber, replacing the exhausted air being drawn out along each side of the belt, while preventing an inrush of air from the infeed and exit of the dryer that would otherwise disturb lighter materials. The volume of air entering the chamber is also adjustable, allowing the operator to fine-tune the air flow. Two models are offered, both with 24″ wide, variable speed conveyor belts: model ERVP-III-24 with 10,800 watts, and model ERVP-VI-24 with 15,600 watts for higher belt speeds (capacity). vastex.com
